Do I have to own or work at a cotton gin to be a member?
No. While cotton gin owners, managers or other stakeholders are a primary membership category, vendors who provide equipment or services to the cotton ginning industry are another category (including cotton growers or brokers), as are related associations.
Do I have to pay my membership fee immediately, or can you bill me?
Our system is designed to collect payment for new members during the registration process, and accepts all major credit cards and PayPal payments. We do not have mechanisms to bill for memberships, or to accept traditional paper checks.
Are the memberships billed monthly, quarterly or annually?
Our memberships are annual, and one convenient payment takes care of the entire year

How do I check my account or my profile?
There are links to both your Account and your Member Profile in the User Menu in the left column of the site, towards the bottom. Click on either "My Account" or "My profile" to display your current information. You can edit your information at anytime by clicking on the "Edit" tab at the top. Tip: Be sure to click "Save" after you have made any changes.
How do I change my password?
This is completed in your main Gin Exchange Account. In the User Menu in the left column of the site, towards the bottom, click on "My Account" to display your current information. Click on the "Edit" tab at the top. Type your new password in the appropriate fields, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save." Tip: Be sure to click "Save" after you have made any changes.
How do I change my account avatar (user photo)?
Click on "My Account" in the User Menu in the left column of the site, towards the bottom. Your account information will display; click on the "Edit" tab at the top. Scroll down to the "Picture" section. Click on "Browse" under Upload picture. Navigate to the photo or image you wish to use as your avatar and click the "Open" or "Save" button (this will depend on your system... "Select" may also be the option). Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save." The new image should now display as your account avatar. Tip: Our system will attempt to size larger photos to fit the small avatar image area; if the end result is not to your liking, try resizing the image you want in a graphics program and try the upload again.

What web browsers and equipment are best for viewing the Gin Exchange site?
Gin Exchange has been designed to work well on major web browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Apple SafarI, and Opera Software's Opera browser). In addition, the site should work well on desktop computing equipment, tablets and various smart phones. There will be differences in how some items are displayed and changes in layout, particularly when comparing desktop, tablet and smartphone access, but the central functions of the site should work essentially the same. We do recommend Google's Chrome web browser for the optimum experience.
How do I create a classified ad?
It's relatively simple, and we have a step-by-step tutorial prepared to help you. The process starts by clicking the "Create An Ad" link in the Member Navigation menu in the left column of the site.
How do I find or edit my own ads?
It's easy—simply click on "My Ads" in the Member Navigation menu in the left column of the site. A list of your ads will appear; simply click on the title to view or edit that particular ad. (Alternatively, you can click on "My Account" in the User Menu near the bottom of the left column of the site. A tabbed menu will appear; simply click on "Ads.") When any of your ads are on the screen, you can click the "Edit" tab at the top to apply adjustments (tip: be sure to save your ad after making any changes). How do I use Bookmarks?
Bookmarks are just like "favorites." To add a bookmark, simply click on the "Bookmark This" link found on various pages throughout the site (such as a classified ad). You can then see all of your bookmarks by clicking on the "My Bookmarks" link in the Member Navigation menu in the left column of the site.
How do the Forums work?
Our Forums allow members to ask questions, describe problems or issues then receive advice and information from other members. Accessing the Forums is easy—simply click on "Go To Forums" under Forums in the top main site menu. For details, please see our step-by-step tutorial for the Forums.
I submitted a blog entry, but it doesn't seem to show up right away... what's happening?
Blog entries on Gin Exchange are briefly reviewed by one of our editors, and so your entry may not appear immediately after you post it. (The review process is usually very fast.) Once it has been reviewed, it will be published and will appear in the main list of blogs. Also see see our Blog Authoring General Rules & Guidelines.
How do I edit or delete a blog entry?
Navigate to the blog entry you would like to change or delete—click on the "My Blog" link in the Member Navigation menu in the left column of the site to display your blog(s). Click the title of the blog you want, then:
To edit the entry: In the tabbed menu at the top, click "New Draft"; make the needed changes then scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save."
To delete the blog entry altogether: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Delete" button.
